Eric Baliantz spent eleven years alternating work on freight ships and studying. His travels to sea have brought him to many regions of the world, mostly in Africa.  He hopes to tell stories in a moral and artful way.

He holds a Bachelors degree in anthropology from the University of California, Davis and a Masters degree in journalism from Columbia University.

He will be at sea through the winter of 2010 and is currently working on a narrative involving Don Quixote and celestial navigation.
